Russell Campbell: Health, Community, Support

While growing up in the South, Russell Campbell recalls the fear that clouded societal perceptions of HIV. Moving to Seattle, he and his partner (who was HIV+) were embraced by the community and buoyed by the support and resources available to them. “I was home,” Campbell says. Groups like Brother to Brother in Seattle helped Campbell feel validated, valued and empowered.
