Margo Bykonen

Margo Bykomen is a wise woman and keeper of secrets who wanted to be a doctor, but found nursing as her calling. The 5West ward at Swedish Hospital was the top place for HIV/AIDS patients, and she is proud of the changes they, as a team, were able to make in the care of those who came there. Her stories show an intimacy of caring that only comes from a person passionate about her work. She says that nursing “changes who you are” and none more than during the height of the AIDS pandemic.
